This degree addresses a gap all over the world in education access. The degree will train leaders specifically for primary (but also secondary) school, focusing on educational design. The degree will not be aimed at teacher certification. Students pursuing this degree may develop new schools, open training centers in various fields, establish literacy programs, and create private education opportunities. As the Mission of the University of the World is to open access to education, this degree track creates that access before tertiary education.
One student may seek to build training for farmers (intersecting with the Family Agriculture degree). Another student may want to take a globally tested school model and expand to new sites (intersecting with the Local to Global degree). Another student may want to set up instruction in health care education (intersecting with the Home-centered Health degree). An added benefit from this degree is expected to be input by these students to their peers in the operations and content of both Local and Global Classes.
